Motif Studio is built to respect your privacy completely. This policy explains what the app does with your information, and more importantly what it does not do.

The short version

Motif Studio does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal information. Everything you do in the app stays on your device. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party trackers.

Information we do NOT collect

• We do not require an account or sign-in.
• We do not collect your name, email, or any contact information.
• We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
• We do not transmit your practice history, progress, songs, settings, or any usage data off your device.

Information stored on your device (only)

To make the app work, Motif Studio saves the following locally on your device, where only you can access it:

• Your practice progress, streaks, goals, and achievements.
• Songs and chord progressions you import or paste.
• App settings and preferences.

This data lives on your device, and in your own iCloud device backup if you have that enabled, which is governed by Apple's privacy policy rather than ours. It is never sent to us or to anyone else. Deleting the app removes this data.

Bluetooth

Motif Studio uses Bluetooth solely to connect to a MIDI piano keyboard. It does not use Bluetooth to collect location or to track you.

Notifications

If you opt in, Motif Studio schedules local practice reminders on your device. These are generated on-device and are not sent through any server.

Children's privacy

Because Motif Studio collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children. There are no accounts, no messaging, no external links to unknown content, and no data transmission.

Third-party content

The app bundles two soundfonts for audio playback, both used under licence and credited in full on our credits page and inside the app under Settings → Credits: the Grand Piano soundfont (Zenph Studios / FreePats, Creative Commons Attribution 3.0, modified for this app) and GeneralUser GS by S. Christian Collins (free to distribute, including commercially). Both are static bundled files and involve no data collection.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above. Because the app collects no data, any change would concern only clarifications or new features.
